Many skeptics have stated that Tidewater Inc. (TDW), is the “laggard” in the marine transportation industry. I believe there are two catalysts that will change this perception in the upcoming years. These catalysts are: the increased demand in the offshore drilling services market and that Tidewater is nearing a completion of its 14-plus year transformation to replace its 500-vessel, traditional fleet with a new, more economical fleet of 225 to 250 vessels.
